I missed you all. I really did.  its so nice to see this blog again :) Life has a habit of getting in the way of me blogging about life. so annoying.

I guess this post could be described as a very late happy new year's. 

2011 was a great year, so excited for 2012, bla bla bla...

seriously, I really am excited :) One of my resolutions this year is to read 100 books. I'll keep you updated on my progress in my bookshelf. 

3 down, 97 to go ;) I really need some recommendations though, as I want to read 100 but I only know of about 50 I for sure want to read. What are some of your favorites? 

another resolution is to do more photography. so I started a 365 project blog called unspoken words.

Today

Merry Christmas everyone!!!! It's as simple as that <3

It's that time of year when the world falls in love. Every song you hear seems to say "Merry Christmas".

Necessity is the mother of invention

-You can't just turn on creativity like a faucet, you have to be in the right mood.
-What mood is that?
-Last minute panic.

They tell me Christmas is in four days. Impossible I say, There is too much to do and only no time to do it in. But we make it work. The busy-ness is just there to make it interesting.

Yesterday we spent most of the day baking. I was able to make two desserts and a pile of tamales without making a disaster of things. This is really saying something, as everyone always gets nervous when I am working in the kitchen.

hence I found another reason to love Christmas-

funny how many things you find yourself to be when faced with the last minute. Necessity is my best source of inspiration.
When you only have one day to bake everything Christmas, you find yourself an excellent baker.
When your broke, and need some unique gifts to give, you suddenly find how crafty you can be.

I've always like making my own things, it makes them special and unique, exactly the way I want it, and frankly makes me feel creative. After realizing just how much I can do when I put my mind to it, makes me want to do it more often. Maybe you'll see a link to my new etsy shop soon if I get a wave of crazy to do something like that, who knows. Any ideas for a name?

I won't be able to post again for a while, I am not like those super bloggers that can post all their excitement around the holidays. So I'll just end by wishing you a most merry Christmas to you lovelies! xoxo

hey, guess what guys? it's christmas. no, it really is. 

and it's snowing did you notice?

Now, you don't need me telling you how great Christmas is.

but what else is this post going to be about, hm?

I got this hedgehog ornament from anthropologie. isn't he cute?!

making cookies is somehow magically 10x better when it's christmas, wouldn't you agree?

 this year my wish list is fairly simple, but has quite endearing things i would like to own. 

1. Books! always on my list. i could go on and on, but five particular books are a bit of a need-

2. Sharpies- can you ever have enough of them?

3. A gray, button up sweater. I have envied my friend's since I first laid eyes on it. it would be so comfy to wear this winter.

4. TOMs! ya, I don't have any yet.*this is very sad*

5. a red felt hat. with a bow on the side. sooo cute. aah.

6. braided belts. these would be so great to add to my outfits.

7. an animal pilot hat x) I see these everywhere, and i fall in love every time. I think the fox one has been my favorite so far.

8.  crafty stuff- buttons, ribbons (anything from hobby lobby). chalkboard paint and glow in the dark paint would be so neat to have.

9. itunes giftcards. my ipod is in dire need of new music.

10. some epic red lip stain. nail polish. you know, those girly things :)

What do want for christmas? I'd love to hear it! as well as anything else you want to talk about christmas related :) or what you think of the new blog design... things like that you know :)

-doing the 'awkward and awesome thursday' on friday.

-getting board of playing in the snow, so i go inside and hours later everyone else comes in and says "you should have stayed outside, it was so fun after you left!"

-trying to make snowballs secretly in the front yard, so as to ambush everyone, but they come to where i am and go "what are you doin- oh."

-trying to have a snowball fight, but i instantly become the main target because i can't hit a thing.
