awkward & awesome

awkward:

-doing the 'awkward and awesome thursday' on friday.
-getting board of playing in the snow, so i go inside and hours later everyone else comes in and says "you should have stayed outside, it was so fun after you left!"
-trying to make snowballs secretly in the front yard, so as to ambush everyone, but they come to where i am and go "what are you doin- oh."
-trying to have a snowball fight, but i instantly become the main target because i can't hit a thing.

awesome:

-getting a hedgehog ornament from anthropologie
-having hot chocolate everyday in my winnie the pooh mug
-holly and her unending quotes: "why do music artists have so much trouble with love?"
-my love for all lowercase overcoming my grammer ocd

my image

You know that one file you have tucked in your computer or notebook or such that's filled with things you will use for your dream wedding, or dream house, or any other such thing in your dream future.

Well here is a grand tour of my future house. dream house. whatever.
sorry in advance for the blurry pictures. all credit goes to pinterest.
I always went back and forth on what type of house I wanted, so I decided when I live in London, I will have the one, and when I move back to the states/get married/have kids, I will have the other. Yes, I can have two dream houses thankyouverymuch.

First London. This will be what it looks like on the way there

And then i will have an apartment here. [preferably the second from the right]

this will be the road leading to it:

And this is what it looks like, excespt the lawn probably won't be so prim, and it will have a gorgeouse vine hugging the walls

And when my husband and I first get it, it will look like this-

but we will fix it up all our own, and make it perfect. and it will be by a lake, and this is what the porch will look like:

And this is by the front door:

And this is the kitchen:

This is a glimpse of the study, but instead of those plants and furniture there are more comfortable chairs (that spin and roll cause I think all studys/offices should have those) and a big wooden desk

And lots of old maps and globes (in the study that is)
And upstairs...

My room will pretty much revolve around this:

This is my kid's play room....

and this is the boy's bedroom:

and this is [inspiration for] my little girl's room

And I'm definitely having this-
Sorry, can't tell you where it goes- secrets you know ;)

In the backyard there's a stone courtyard type place...

With lots of outdoor furniture...

 And a guest summer house...

perfect is overrated

"The most important thing is to enjoy your life - to be happy - it's all that matters."
- Audrey Hepburn
We come across this everyday. Don't worry, be happy, 'cause that sounds really nice and dandy.
That's the way we live isn't it? In pursuit of happiness?
"Laugh when you can, apologize when you should, and let go of what you can’t change. Life is too short to be anything but happy."
To be succesful, loved, and content. Without pain. without regret. without worries. without fear.
This is the ideal life everyone strives for.

I don't believe I will ever meet a single person who has achieved this. We don't live in a world filled with lollipops and gumdrops. The fact is, I am very glad for this.

In no way do I go looking for pain and sorrow, or anticipate it coming, but I think these are the most instructive and beneficial companions. I am actually very glad for them. They make life more of an adventure.

Every once in a while, when things are rough, I don't want to just hold my chin up, and smile, and sing "every little thing is gonna be all right".
I just want to cry and will the pain to numb, or else thrash around furiously trying to get out of it.

I always do eventually, get out of it, but when I'm in the middle of that dark place I'm not thinking of when that will be, or just pretend there is nothing to worry about. The present is too demanding of my immediate attention.

I'm tired of everyone trying to sell me this happy life. To focus on being perfect. I have trials because I'm alive, and I endure those trials because that's how you survive.

No peice of art is all gold. My life is full of color. My life is full of contrast. It's full of flavor and thrills.

My life doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful.

hum, hum, tiddle-diddle-um

Eyore stood and thought about things. Sometimes he thought sadly, "Why?"  and sometimes he thought "wherefore?" and sometimes he thought, "Inasmuch as which?" and sometimes he didn't quite know what he was thinking about.

"Don't you think there are more wishes, more wishes inside of you?" Piglet asked.

The nicest thing about the rain is that it always stops eventually. – Eeyore

That's what friends are for. They help you to be more of who you are. –Christopher Robin

Lets begin by taking a smallish nap or two... - Pooh

Friends can be new, friends can be old. All of them are as precious as gold. –Roo

With you here, I know that life is much more fun. –Pooh

"Pooh," asked piglet, "What is the first thing you think when you get up in the morning?" "What's for breakfast." said Pooh. "What do you think of Piglet?" "I think 'I wonder what exciting thing will happen today?" Pooh nodded thoughtfully. "It's always the same."

Could be worse. Not sure how, but it could be. –Eeyore

It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words. –Pooh

[Talk to mirror] Oh, hello. Am I glad to see you. It's more friendly with two. Now, you go that way, and I'll go this way. –Pooh

Here you are my friend, what could be more right? –Pooh

Some people care too much. I think it's called love. -Pooh

Oh d-d-d-dear, I musn’t f-f-f-fear. There’s a very important thing to do. –Piglet

Christopher Robin: “What do you like doing best in the world?” | Pooh: “What I like best is me going to visit you.”

Piglet: "How do you spell 'love'?" Pooh: "You don't spell it, you feel it."

People say nothing is Impossible, but I do nothing all the time. -Pooh

Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart- Pooh

"What?" said piglet with a jump. And then, to show that he hadn't been frightened, he jumped up and down once or twice in an exercising sort of way.

Just a bit of Winnie the Pooh goodness for you.

don't hate me, please

listening to: when I'm with you by JJ Heller
quote love: if guns kill people, then pencils misspell words, cars make people drive drunk, and spoons make you fat.

Today I realized that I was following nearly 50 blogs (That is a lot for me people).  as much as I'd love to, I really can't just go back and read every single post from everyone, and really it wasn't helping me with my goal to do more productive stuff with my time.
And so as painful as it was, I decided to narrow it down to my absolute favorites, so as to not get sucked into all the lovely posts to be reading, and pictures to look at, and links to click, so that maybe now I wont sit back blinking and realize "wow, I've been staring at a screen for five hours."

If I've stopped following your blog, I'm sorry, a little piece of me died inside to click the "stop following" button. I really have nothing against you, or just hated your blog or anything, and I hope you understand :)
